MEET THOMAS WIIL-ANDERSEN
Thomas is a constructing architect and a certified design manager.
Thomas joined LH Project Management in 2023 and here he explains why he chose a job at a small startup over a large corporation.
"At LH Project Management, I had the opportunity to engage in what I am passionate about, which is design management and project management within the pharmaceutical industry.
It also mattered that I knew Kim and knew he was an experienced leader who is good at delegating and demonstrating trust and support.
So even though the company was newly started, I truly believed in the project because Kim has many years of experience with life science projects and has a large network in the industry."
It’s not just the professional expertise at LH Project Management that Thomas appreciates:
"I was also tired of sitting in traffic on the highway.
Now it takes me 15 minutes to get to work instead of an hour.
The walk from the Central Station down Vesterbrogade to the office gives me a daily "city life kick," and I enjoy it a lot.
The overall package was good both professionally and developmentally, with flexibility, a good location, and it suited my family life."
What is different compared to large companies?
"In a smaller company, you quickly gain a lot of influence and responsibility for the company's development.
It has meant a lot to me to be part of the development of LH Project Management and to shape the strategy.
It’s great to be in the engine room and shape the DNA and culture of a company I am passionate about.
I have never tried that before, so it’s exciting. Another difference is that we share our space with RH ARKITEKTER, with whom we have a great collaboration.
When you are a newly started company and don’t have many employees, it is valuable to be able to collaborate with established forces and have "colleagues" to spar with and have lunch with."
What is a day in your life like?
I work with design management and project management, as I wanted to.
I have worked on large projects for one of Denmark’s biggest pharmaceutical companies.
My daily life is filled with people, and much of my work involves communication, leadership, analysis, planning, and management.
There are many stakeholders in the projects, and it motivates me to integrate and coordinate schedules between many parties and disciplines.
It’s exciting to bring all these things together. As an employee in a smaller company, you get a lot of responsibility and many opportunities.
It is educational, and I have developed a lot. I have taken a certification course in design management through LH Project Management, so I feel well-equipped to handle my role.
I thrive with a high degree of freedom under responsibility and greatly appreciate contributing to the development of an ambitious company that invests in its employees, allows me to develop professionally, and also accommodates family life."
